Smithsonian Museum along with its affiliate, Pacific Aviation Museum Pearl Harbor, partnered with the Japanese Cultural Center of Hawaii, Japanese American National Museum, Pacific Historic Parks and WWII Valor in the Pacific National Monument to host this regional youth summit in Hawaii. The panelists, composed of scholars & family members of those "prisoners" at Honouliuli Internment Camp, openly discussed causes and effects to a packed house of Hawaii's youth.
As a service to the world, Nashimoto & Associates invited Japanese speaking media to witness and report on this emotion filled event as the panelists shared their knowledge, memories and tears with Hawaii high school students. The hope is that the young citizens will be better prepared to not let fear drive actions that suspends any constitutional rights of any citizen.
